Wines and Vintners
Günter Triebaumer Wine Estate
The Günter Triebaumer and Regina Limbeck wine estate is in the free state of Rust in the Burgenland wine region of the Lake Neusiedl-Hügelland. The family has been resident in Rust since 1691. The vineyards, with nine hectares of vines, are stocked to 75% with red-wine varieties. The Blaufränkisch plays the most important role. Also cultivated are Merlot, Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon/Franc, as well as the experimental Nebbiolo, Tempranillo, Zinfandel, Lagrein, Carmenere, Pinotage, Teroldego and Tannat.
Among the white wines one finds Sauvignon blanc, Yellow Muscatel, Traminer, Welschriesling and Furmint. From all of these varieties is also the traditionally made, naturally sweet Rust “ausbruch” – the only historical designation of wine in Austria. Together with the high-premium wines count the “ausbruchs”, the Blaufränkisch Reserve, the Shiraz, the Pinot noir and the Weite Welt cuvee – a powerful, Cabernet emphasised wine in which the sum of the exotic experimental varieties are to be again found.
The large-format bottles, such as the jeroboam and the Imperiale are filled. Together with an essentially fruity Austrian vintner sekt and distillations, to be mentioned especially is the aroma-intensive Muscato – a slightly bubbling wine with 7% alcohol made from the yellow muscatel according to the Moscato d'Asti method.
As a member firm of the “Cercle Ruster Ausbruch”, there prevails the constant endeavour to further develop the historical awareness of this sweet-wine appellation. Tasting possibility on application.
